What participants will do and learn:
In this acting and filmmaking workshop, participants will work in small, creative collectives. Together, they will write, plan, direct, shoot, act and edit short cinematic sequences that express their unique voices.
Filmmaking is truly a team sport, and there is a role for everyone: the pragmatist and the dreamer, the introvert, and the extrovert. We foster collaboration so that everyone has a voice, allowing them to try out various roles from writing and direction to cinematography and sound recording and so much more!
At For the Love of Film, we aim to guide rather than teach, allowing participants to explore and develop an understanding of the filmmaking and acting process through hands-on creation and exploration. Lots of fun, creativity, and laughter aplenty in this engaging, educational, and fun workshop.

MORE women and nonbinary storytellers BEHIND our screens = MORE and BETTER representations of women and non-binary people ON our screens!
The stories told in film and television send a specific message about who matters most in our culture. This workshop aims to bring together diverse gender representations to collaborate on a microfilm and tell the stories that matter to them. This 3-day workshop runs over two weekends for creative women and non-binary people who are interested in collaborating and learning through filmmaking. We’re looking for people who are interested in being part of a film crew making a micro-short narrative film and exploring all the creativity that comes with making films. No experience is necessary. Just simply bring a passion to tell stories that matter to you.
